Killers is the swell magnet of Taghazout Bay. It picks up the biggest waves in the area and handles giant swells that shut everything else down.
The wave
Bowling right-handers that suck in every ounce of swell reaching this coast. It holds size that would close out the other points, and on those days it is worth watching from the cliffs above even if you have no intention of going out.
The paddle
A trek down the cliff face and then roughly twenty minutes of paddling to the peak. That single fact keeps the crowd far smaller than the wave quality would otherwise allow.
Budget real energy for getting out and for holding position once there — the current will move you steadily while you rest.
The name
Not a comment on the wave. It is named after killer whales reported migrating past the point. The wave is serious enough that the misunderstanding is forgivable.
Whether you should go
If you surf rocky points confidently, are fit enough for a sustained paddle, and have watched it for a while first — yes, and it may be the best wave of your trip. If any of those three are shaky, Panoramas is a better day.
