Taghazout Plage is the sandy beach in the middle of the village, popular with beginners for its convenience and its sand bottom.
What it is good for
Convenience above all. It breaks over sand rather than rock, sits in the village, and is visible from most rooftop terraces — so you can check it with a coffee and be in the water five minutes later.
For a first session while staying in Taghazout itself, it is the obvious choice.
What it is not
Consistent. Local guides describe it as a fickle shore break, and it is generally regarded as the weakest of the village options once there is any real swell running.
On most days beginners do better at Banana Point or Crocs, which is why camps tend to drive south rather than north for first lessons.
Why we still list it
Because if you are staying in Taghazout rather than with us, it is where you will probably start — and it is worth knowing that a quiet day here does not mean the coast is flat. It usually means you need to get in a van.
