Several spots on this coast are named simply for how far they sit from Agadir. K11 and K12 are two of them, just south of Banana Point.
The naming convention
You will see K11, K12, K13 and similar on maps and forecast sites. The number is the distance in kilometres from Agadir along the coast road — the least romantic and most practical naming system in surfing.
K11
A deep reef break producing both lefts and rights, described as working in both low and high tides, with a beach section friendly enough for beginners. One of the more forgiving reef options in the area.
K12
A peaky reef break working best on mid to high tides. The left is popular with bodyboarders, and the spot is slow and mellow enough to suit improvers while remaining underrated by most visitors.
Why we use them
Close, quiet, and they offer both directions. On a day when Banana Point is full of schools and the tide does not suit Crocs, this stretch is often the answer.
