Anza sits between Agadir and the surf villages, and is one of the few breaks on this coast that reliably offers lefts.
Why goofy-footers go there
This coast is famous for right-hand points, which is excellent news if you surf regular-footed and repetitive if you do not. Anza and Tamri are the two spots most often named as offering something for goofy-footers.
Spending a week going backside on every wave is a real phenomenon here, and one session at Anza fixes it.
The wave
A mix of reef and beach break producing waves in both directions depending on the bank and swell angle. It suits intermediates comfortably and is generally busier with local surfers than with camps.
Water quality
Anza sits close to Agadir and has historically drawn water-quality concerns after heavy rain, when run-off reaches the coast. Ask locally before surfing after a storm — a genuine consideration rather than a rumour.
