About Longboard Surfing Camps in Morocco
Morocco has one of the best longboard coastlines in the world, and the reason is geometry: the points north of Taghazout peel in one direction for hundreds of metres, and a long board is the right tool for a wave that does exactly that.
Imsouane bay is the obvious one — a slow, shouldering right that can run for several hundred metres and is regularly described as one of the longest rides in Africa. It is a noseriding wave rather than a performance one, and on the right day it is the reason people bring a nine-foot board through an airport. Anchor Point, Boilers and the other points hold longboards well at size, but the crowd there is shortboard-dominant and the etiquette is stricter.
The practical question for a longboard week is equipment. Most camps stock soft-tops and mid-lengths but not proper logs, and airline board fees for a nine-footer are significant. Ask what is actually in the rack before booking, and whether the camp teaches noseriding or simply lends you a bigger board.

Surfers who already log at home, improvers who want long rides rather than steep ones, and anyone whose priority is time on the wave rather than manoeuvres.
